As the ensuing conflict showed, nothing could have been further from the truth, and no other airframe could have provided the US and Coalition commanders with the sort of forward air control, close air support, combat search and rescue, and tank busting capabilities that the Hog did. Since then the A-10 has delivered capabilities to battlefield commanders in the Balkans (1990s), Afghanistan (2001 onwards) and the second Gulf War (2003 onwards), and Libya (2011). A-10s have flown around 11 per cent of Operation Inherent Resolve sorties (striking IS targets in Iraq) since combat operations began in August 2014.

Where to find other religious comics sold at Amazon

This review will do two things. First, provide you with a review of the book, and second, provide you with a guide to other religious material in comic form that is on Amazon.com. I am doing this because simply typing comics and religion into the subject search line does not bring up the necessary material. Heros of the Bible is done in a style currently popular in super hero comics. This is popular with teenage boys. This might be the best of the comic Bibles for teenage boys and adults. The artistic style in interesting and dramatic. As in many comics, all of the males have been pumping iron. The muscles are not always large but always seem to be well defined. Everyone is emotionally intense, as teens often are. They are gritting their teeth most of the time and have their eyes closed about half the time. Even Jesus seems to be rarely at peace. I have bought three comic Bibles, this is the only one I myself read all the way through. Nevertheless, even for teens and adults, and definitely for children, The Picture Bible by Hoth is the better choice. You get a lot more comics per dollar, it covers the Bible more completely, and is by far more popular with children. Heros of the Bible was produced by Evangelical Christians, as were the others, but it goes out of its way to present a view of Mary different from the Catholic Church. In the story of the boy Jesus in the temple the text says that Mary and Joseph had other children. In the story of the feast of Cana the text says that Mary ignored the protests of Jesus when she said, "Do whatever this man tells you to do." One could simply felt tip over these phrases. Or Catholic parents might want to simply point out the difficulties and use it as an opportunity to explain the difference between evangelical and Catholic belief. This approach is particularly reasonable because this book is for teens, not children. There are a number of religious books in comic form. But alas you can not just type religion and comics on the subject line and get them. This review will tell you how to find six different religious comics on Amazon.com. You can tell a lot about their artistic style from the cover picture given by Amazon.com. I have bought all but the two volume Gains, comic-strip Bible. You can find my reviews under each. If you do a book search and write Hoth on the author line you will get several versions of The Picture Bible written by Ivan Hoth. If you write "the comic book bible" on the title line you will get The Comic Book Bible written and illustrated by Rob Scruggs. Finally you can find another comic Bible by typing Gaines, M on the author line and comic-strip on the title line. Finally if you type The Big Book of Martyrs you will find a book on Catholic martyrs. One last point, comics have a powerful ability to grab an audience, children, teens, and adults. This makes them a powerful evangelical tool. Per minute of reading they tend to be very expensive if only read once. A twenty page commercial super hero comic costs two dollars. If it takes twenty minutes to read at a leisurely pace, that is six dollars an hour, or twelve dollars for two hours. Much more expensive than a two hour movie. But expensive entertainment is normally priced education, public schools cost six dollars an hour. If they are read repeatedly, which they normally will be, they start becoming cheap education. And finally many of these comics are much cheaper per page than ordinary commercial comics. That is why I recommend them highly as an evangelical medium.

I teach a religious ed class of 16 4th grade boys. Each week I randomly give one child this book for the week and one Hero to look up and ask for a recommendation of another Hero for another student to report on. The boys really look forward to the name that comes out of the Hero bag.

Very Enjoyable!

I picked this book because after reading the blurb I thought this would be a great, light read and it was. However, I failed to notice that it was the third book of a series. I figured it out while I was reading the book because the author kept giving a lot of back story into the two previous couples. You really don't need to read the two previous books in order to read this one, but the characters involved in those books are very interesting and I'm sure I would have liked reading their stories. You see, I have a mild case of OCD regarding series and their order, so I am a little bit disappointed but not enough for it to affect my overall rating. I just wanted to let you know in case you are a series freak like me. ;)

The story started slow. Very slow. It took me a couple of days just to get past the first chapter. I'm sure the author, Donna Kauffman, was just trying to let the reader know about the past events in Kit's life and how she got to be in the situation she was currently in, but to me it felt a bit much. And the same can be said about Morgan's first narration piece. It was overwhelming for me to keep up. The only difference was that in Morgan's case I was already invested in the story, so it was easier to bear.

That said, the interaction between these two was great to read. They were amazing characters. Kit was your typical apprehensive young woman who wanted to make something of herself first before getting into a relationship. And Morgan was a funny, caring uncle who suddenly found himself as a single dad to his niece and instantly charmed by Kit. Their connection felt real and believable, which helped the story a lot. There were doubts and hesitation as well as moments of complete abandon between them. What I enjoyed the most was their dialog. It was very amusing, filled with a lot of banter and flirting. The secondary characters added to the story as well. I especially liked Franco and Lily, they were adorable.

The romance side of the story was very good too. When these two first kissed it was amazing. I could feel their passion and their hesitation. And when they finally came together it was everything I imagined it would be. The author really did time it perfectly and wrote it beautifully.

"I want to revel in you."

Again, it felt very real - there was humor, passion, lust and hesitation. Making their first time together very believable. And after that? Uff, just excellent. There was this one scene...Well you will just have to read about it for yourself. I'll just say that it was hot and funny and totally unexpected.

This is the first book I read by Donna Kauffman and I think it will not be the last if her others are anything like this one. Light, funny and filled with great characters and amazing romance.

All that thought and emotion sharing was just too much for my English sensibilities ~ Under the Covers

Kit Bellamy has come to Sugarberry Island to start a new life after the business she loved was sold from under her. Still reeling her life crumbling beneath her, she hopes her new job and life on Sugarberry Island will be just what she needs. What she didn't expect to find was Morgan Westlake. Morgan is now the sole guardian to his niece Lilly after his brother and wife dies a year ago, coming to Sugarberry Island he plans on making a new start away from his overbearing and cold family, what he didn't expect was Kit Bellamy.

I made the fatal mistake of being attracted to a book because of its cover and title. One because yellow (and green) are my favourite colours and two it mentioned cupcakes and who doesn't love a cupcake? Unfortunately this book just wasn't for me, I found myself more interested in reading the recipes at the back of the book (which sound delicious and I fully plan on trying out!) than I was in the book itself.

What I didn't like most about this book was the weird way in which the characters, especially Kit and Morgan spoke to each other, it just seemed so...unrealistic, and coming from a gal who likes romance heavy on the werewolves that is saying something. I found it more feasible that a sexy bloke will start sprouting fangs and a bit of extra hair then a he would constantly want to talk about his feelings. Every conversation would start with an update on their emotional state and inevitably someones eyes would start going "shimmery"... I mean really? Who lives like that? All that thought and emotion sharing was just too much for my English sensibilities.

But there were good points, it had a quirky and eccentric cast of secondary characters who made me chuckle and Lilly, Morgan's niece, was disgustingly cute and I loved her fascination with the sea turtles.

This book just wasn't really for me, although the romance was kind of sweet I found it a little boring and by the end I found I was reading to get to the end, rather then because I enjoyed it.

This book is a heartfelt, warm story about a woman's journey to find love. Kit has suffered emotionally. She's experienced loss and feels like her life is going nowhere. She decides to open a bakery, pouring all of her emotions in to a job she loves. When she runs in to the tall dark and handsome lawyer, Morgan, however, everything changes, and she's caught up in the possibility of a romance.

The development of the romance between Kit and Morgan is beautiful. The emotional obstacles that Kit must face are all too familiar, and as she works through them, Morgan's ability to understand and his patience is romantic and very sweet. As the story goes on, their friends and family play the role of matchmaker, trying to encourage and convince the two that their relationship is worth all of the effort.

Fun, loving and charming, this story set in the South, is a perfect romance for a night in. If you're looking for a good book that will make you melt, pick this one up and fall in love.

Jonathan Hobson's book is a handy intro to troubleshooting a variety of issues that CentOS system admins may encounter. In addition he covers some basic information on installing and configuring some of the more popular Linux services, like MySQL/MariaDB, file shares and DNS services. While not exhaustive in any one area, it does provide a place to start when trying to resolve problems on the operating system.
